How spaced out text works
“Spaced out text” means two different things online. One is fullwidth text (like this): special Unicode letters drawn as wide as a Chinese or Japanese character, so the gaps are built in. The other is ordinary letters with spaces typed between them (l i k e t h i s). This page does both.
Use the spacing controls to choose how many spaces go between letters and between words, or swap the space for a dot, a star, a heart or any symbol. Spaced plain letters are the safest choice — they display on every device — but screen readers read them letter by letter, so keep them for short headings and names.

Questions
What is the difference between wide text and spaced text?
Wide (fullwidth) text uses different characters, U+FF01 to U+FF5E, that are drawn wider. Spaced text uses normal letters with spaces in between. Wide text looks smoother; spaced text works literally everywhere and stays searchable in some apps.
Why did my keyboard start typing wide letters?
On Windows with a Japanese or Chinese input method, pressing Alt + ` or Shift + Space can switch to fullwidth mode. Press it again, or switch your input language back to English (Windows key + Space).
How do I add letter spacing in Word, Google Docs or Canva?
Those apps have real letter spacing: in Word use Font → Advanced → Spacing; in Canva use the Spacing button; in Google Docs there is no tracking control, so typed spaces or this generator are the workaround.
Will spaced out text fit in my bio?
Each space counts as a character. One space between letters roughly doubles the length; the counter on each style shows the exact number.
Is spaced text the same as vaporwave text?
Vaporwave usually means the fullwidth style. See the vaporwave text generator for frames and Japanese brackets that go with it.
