How cursive text works
The cursive here is Unicodeโs Mathematical Script alphabet, originally made for maths notation such as โ for a Laplace transform. Because each letter is its own character, the curls stay put when you paste them into Instagram, TikTok or a text message.
Bold script (๐ต๐ฒ๐ด๐ฎ ๐ฝ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ผ) is the complete, consistent alphabet. The lighter script borrows 11 letters such as โฌ, โฐ and โฏ from an older block, so a few letters look slightly different on some phones.

Questions
Why do some cursive letters look different from the rest?
Letters like โ, โ and โฏ were added to Unicode years before the rest of the script alphabet, in the Letterlike Symbols block. Fonts often draw them in a different style. Use bold script if you want a perfectly matched set.
Can I use cursive in my Instagram username?
No. Instagram usernames accept only letters, numbers, periods and underscores. Put the cursive in your Name field or bio instead.
Is cursive text accessible?
Screen readers often read mathematical script letters as โmathematical script capital Sโ or skip them. Use cursive for a word or two of decoration, not for information people need.
