How vaporwave text works

Vaporwave text uses fullwidth forms: versions of Latin letters sized to fit the square grid of Chinese, Japanese and Korean typesetting. Unlike maths letters, they are part of every CJK font, so they are among the best-supported fancy characters of all.

Pair them with 【lenticular brackets】 or katakana for the full 2010s vaporwave album-cover mood.

Questions

Is wide text the same as vaporwave text?

Yes. Fullwidth, wide and aesthetic text all describe the same characters (U+FF01–U+FF5E).

Why do spaces look huge?

The tool uses the ideographic space (U+3000), which is as wide as a fullwidth letter, so the spacing matches.

Is vaporwave text searchable?

Many search systems fold fullwidth letters back to normal ones, so it is friendlier to search than maths letters.
