How strikethrough text works
Strikethrough is the internet’s way of saying one thing while “deleting” it: ~~I love Mondays~~. This tool adds the combining long stroke overlay (U+0336) after every letter, so the line travels with the text wherever you paste it.
Discord and Reddit already support ~~double tildes~~ for strikethrough in messages; use Unicode where those shortcuts do not work, like Instagram captions or X posts.

Questions
Why is the strikethrough line broken between letters?
Each letter gets its own short stroke. Fonts that draw the stroke narrower than the letter leave small gaps. Try another font or the slash style.
Does strikethrough double my character count?
Yes. Each letter plus its stroke counts as two characters, so a 150-character bio fits only 75 struck-through letters.
How do I strikethrough in Discord?
Type ~~your text~~ in a message. Discord renders it as real strikethrough formatting.
