How bubble text works
Circled letters (ⓐⓑⓒ) arrived in Unicode through Japanese and Korean character sets, where they number list items. The white bubbles cover upper case, lower case and 0–20; the black bubbles are capitals only.
Watch out for 🅰 🅱 🅾 🅿: phones often turn these four black squares into colourful emoji, which breaks the look.

Unicode only encodes negative (black) circled capital letters. Lowercase input is converted to capitals.
Why do some squares show as red emoji?
🅰 🅱 🅾 🅿 have emoji versions (blood types and parking). Apple and Google fonts draw them in colour.

White circled numbers go up to ㊿ (50) in Unicode. This tool converts each digit separately for consistency.
